Money and Capital Markets:

Participants
The two follow-up workshops are designed for bankers and financiers trading on money and capital markets, or those staff members of banks and financial institutions that need to become familiar with the given topics in order to perform their jobs.

Objectives
Extend and improve knowledge and develop practical skills of the participants in the field of money and capital markets and how they operate, update on current trends on capital markets, analyze current issues of money and capital markets determined by interest rates, bond and stock prices. Provide the participants with the knowledge on how currency stock exchanges work, how exchange rates development is forecasted, and how interest rates work. Teach the participants to analyze present and future position of a bank in money and capital markets.

Content of the 1st workshop
* Money market characteristics,
* Capital market theory,
* Securities rating,
* Stock exchange trading – clearing and settlement,
* Stock exchange rates list, stock exchange price indices,
* Capital market regulation and supervision,
* Money market and its instruments (definition, interbank deposit market, OTC (over-the-counter) market, repo market, short-term bonds market, bills of exchange and their use,
* Characteristics of securities (securities as financial assets, securities issuers, securities related rights).
Content of the 2nd workshop
* Institutionalization of capital market in the Slovak Republic, interpretation of Bratislava Stock Exchange rules,
* derivatives (concepts and definitions, forwards and futures, options),
* financial reporting according to IAS/IFRS (concepts, principles and aims, IAS based valuation of assets and liabilities, IAS based financial statement components and their importance for financial analysis).
